There are three cases of using the preposition (OF) as the following

FIRST CASE : we must use OF after these after these  expressions
1- A quarter : About a quarter OF the class play football
2- Ninety percent : Over ninety percent OF us have black eyes
3- Two thirds :Two thirds of the class come to school by bus

SECOND CASE : Using ( OF ) is optional after these expressions
1- half :   Half of the class voted for English as their favourite subject
               Half  the class voted for English as their favourite subject
2- all   :   all of the students in our group voted for Real Madrid as their favourite football club
              all the students in our group voted for Real Madrid as their favourite football club

THIRD CASE : the use of most, her we can use ( OF ) or erase it
1- Most with of : most OF THE students use the internet
2- Most without of: most students use the internet

HOMEWORK : For more practice please write three sentences for each case in your lecture note book
