Revision of " question tags "
Good morning grade 5
Today we will review the use of QUESTION TAGS
TAGS QUESTION : short questions that we put at the end of the sentence
We use question tags when we are checking information that we already know
FOR EXAMPLE : Ali is from Oman, isn't he?
HOW to compose a question tag sentence?
1- If the main part of the sentence is positive. The question is negative.
EX: Ahmed is a footballer, isn't he?
2-If the main part of the sentence is negative. The question is positive.
EX: They aren't doctors, are they?
3- with auxiliary verb, we use the same auxiliary verb in the question tag
EX: They are cooking now, aren't they?
They hadn't play football, had they?
4- if we have just the main verb in the sentence " NO AUXILIARY VERB " we use the verb do forms in the question tag
If the main verb is in the present tense we use (DO- DOES)
EX: She likes ice cream, doesn't she?
They like ice cream, don't they?
If the main verb is in the past, we use (DID)
EX: He played tennis yesterday, didn't he?
They ate dinner at 7 o'clock, did they?
please make sure that you are using the appropriate pronoun of the sentence
