Unit 13 / Lesson 3 : Friends across the world

Good morning Grade 7
Today we will study UNIT 13 / LESSON 3

First, we will start with some vocabulary related to the lesson
1- modern : designed and built recently
EX : We use modern computer systems in our company

2- hobbies : Things you do in your free time
EX : Swimming is one of my favourite hobbies

3- rowing: A sport in which you make a boat move through the water
EX : Most athletes don't pick up the sport of rowing until university

4- residential : A school trip to a place where you stay one night or more
EX : My friends always went to Pyramisa Centre for out residential

5- shelter building : making somewhere to protect you from bad weather
EX : We did lots of different activities such as shelter building
Now, let's move to the second part of our lesson which is HOW TO STRUCTURE OR ORGANISE YOUR LETTER

In this letter Sylvia is writing to Daniella to speak about herself

PARAGRAPH ONE : she introduces herself
PARAGRAPH TWO : she talks about her school
PARAGRAPH THREE : she talks about her hobbies and sports
PARAGRAPH FOUR : she talks about her family
PARAGRAPH FIVE : she talks about something she done recently . At the end of the paragraph, she wrote this phrase " I look forward to receiving your letter

There're many phrases that you can use as an end for your letter such as

1- I hope to get your letter soon
2- I would love to find out all about you, so please write back soon
3- Write soon! I can't wait to get to know you
4- I look forward to receiving your letter

HOMEWORK : In the following sheet, Write a letter to your new friend Aya / Ahmed . Introduce yourself and give information about your life . Follow the same structure of Sylvia's letter
