Revision of " Modal verbs of speculation

Good morning grade 5

Today we will make a quick revision on the use of MODALS OF SPECULATIONS

MODALS OF SPECULATIONS : are words used to show how much you are certain (sure) about your information
These words are ( MUST - MAY - MIGHT - COULD - CAN'T )

MUST : you use must when you are almost 100 % certain that something is true
EX : The baby is crying, he must have a problem
In this example, I am 100 % sure that the baby has a problem

CAN'T : is the opposite of must: we use it when we are 100 % sure that something is not true
EX : You've  just had lunch, you can't be hungry now
In this example we are sure that you aren't hungry.

MAY - MIGHT - COULD : Used to show that there's a chance that something is true or there's a possibility that something will happen
EX : 1- I might go to Paris next week
2- we may play football today
3- you could get high marks in the exam
In these sentences, the possibility that these actions will happen is 50 %, means I am not sure of it
