Hi students,
Let's we revise our concepts
The important points in the chapter of properties of waves
1 . wavelength - distance between two crests or troughs; unit is metre.
2. Amplitude unit is volts.
Look at the diagram figure 14.5 in course book physics pg no :202 &203.
3.Types of wave
a) longitudinal wave - ex: sound
b) transverse wave. Ex: ripples on water, light and EM waves.
4.when waves enter from one material to another it's speed get changed but frequency remains constant..
5.Diffractiom is greatest when width of the gap is equal to the wavelength of waves being diffracted..in pg no: 209 figure 14.4
