Revision of using the definite article

Good morning grade 7

Today we will make a quick revision on the use of definite article " the " with places

We use " THE " before some places and buildings such as the following

1- FAMOUS BUILDINGS
EX: the Parthenon, the Great Pyramid
2-OCEANS, SEAS, RIVERS
EX:  the Pacific, The Nile ,
3- MOST GEOGRAPHICAL REGIONS
EX:  the north, the central plateau, the Antarctic
4- MOUNTAIN RANGES AND ISLANDS GROUPS
EX : the Andes, the Maldives


Places without the such as the following

1-CONTINENTS AND MOST COUNTRIES
EX :  Asia, Egypt
2-LAKES AND MOST MOUNTAINS
EX : Lake Titicaca, Everest
3-PLACE NAME + BUILDING
EX : Athens airport, Mumbai Central Station


Some irregular rules while using " THE " such as the following

1- PLURAL NAMES OF COUNTRIES
EX:  the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, the United Stat
2- NAMES WHICH INCLUDE REPUBLIC, KINGDOM
EX: the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom
