Today's topic : Carbon dioxide and methane
Concept : greenhouse gas effect and climatic changes
Pg.no : 9 & 10 in Ur chemistry course book
The important points are
1.global warming mainly increased by the following gases : methane & carbon dioxide
2. Methane is around 20 times more effective at stopping heat escaping than carbon dioxide is
3. Carbon dioxide gas is mostly produced by burning fossil fuels and cutting down forests.to overcome this we should limit use of fossil fuels and plant the more trees.
4. Methane is produced by animals such as cow;
It is a by - product of digesting their food
5.In addition to that , it produced by the decay of food and other dead organic matter.
6.Methane is produced in large quantities by rice paddy fields and landfill sites.
7.Treating the organic waste so that the methane could be collected and burnt as fuel would help solve the problem.
