Today's topic: thermal properties of matter

The important points are
1.temperature and internal energy
* Thermometer tells us about the average Energy of the particles in the object whose temperature we are measuring.
* It does this by sharing the energy of the particles
So the internal energy : is the total Energy of all the particles
Temperature : is a measure of the average kinetic energy of the individual particles
2 .look at figure 10.2 in pg no : 133.
3.The first thermometer is designed by Galileo in 1593.It has some drawbacks
4. To overcome that Anders celsius,found a modern celsius thermometer shown in figure 10.4
5 .It has two fixed points
0 and 100 degree Celsius
